In 1860, Mr. Edouard Heuer, a watchmaker has opened his first shop in St.Imier Swiss Jura Region.
His vision was to create remarkable timepieces that pushed the envelope of innovation and precision. The company's reputation grew, and Heuer's first patent for a chronograph mechanism
In 1882 was followed by a long list of achievements: 1. The first stopwatch accurate to 1/100 of a second,
2. The first dashboard stopwatch for race cars,
3. The first miniature electronic timekeeping device accurate to 1/1000th of a second,
4. The first automatic movement with a microrotor, to name just a few.
Over the years, Heuer's reputation for gold-standard precision earned the company the privilege of providing official timing services for a number of world-class competitive sporting events, including the Olympic Games, the FIS Ski World Cup, and the FIA Formula 1 World Championships.
In 1985, Heuer joined the TAG (Techniques D'Avant-Garde) group, and the TAG Heuer name and logo were created.
In 1895, 3 years after Mr. Edouard Heuer died, TAG HEUER has patent for the first water- resistant cases for pocket watches
In 1910, The fist TAG HEUER patented a keyless, crown operated winding system for pocket watch.
In 1914, The First Wrist worn chronographa has introduced in silver case, enamelled dial and alluminous hand.
This watch fitted with same mechanic pocket and powered by a pocket watch movement. It crowned and integrated button for start, stop and reset are located in 12 o'clock.
In 1930, TAG HEUER has producing the Chronographs designed for PILOTs with the same case and dial as other pilot in the period, but now, there are both of one button and two button version available in market.
In 1934, TAG HEUER has launched the first round pushed button water - resistant chronographs.
In 1962, The First Swiss watchmaker to go to space flight it was on mr. John Glenn's hand
